Our mission:
Intercommission Working Group I/V, one of the newest working groups in ISPRS, deals with the emerging technology of autonomous vehicle navigation. Anyone who is interested in any aspects of navigation of spacecraft, aircraft, UAV, land vehicles, robots, ships, and underwater vehicles are welcome to join us. The goal is to advance the navigation technology toward the automation of vehicle operations. The working group will provide a platform for idea exchange, cooperation among members, and promotion of the technology for governmental and society understanding and support.

Terms of Reference: 

  • Design and development of autonomous vehicle navigation technologies including: GPS, INS, dead reckoning, active and passive image/signal based positioning 
  • Development and integration of vehicle navigation sensors and sensor networks
  • Research and development of algorithms that support autonomous navigation
  • Development and applications of robot navigation systems, driver assistance systems for land vehicles, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)
  • Demonstration of state of the art autonomous navigation systems in working environments
