Attendees:
OSU Mapping & GIS Lab: Dr. Ron Li (PI), Dr. Ahmed Elaksher, Ruiji Ma, Xutong Niu
OSU Geodesy Lab: Kai-chien (Kevin) Cheng (reported by E-mail), Chung-Yen Kuo
OSU Center for Mapping: Tarig Ali
SUNY at Buffalo: Xian Xu (reported by E-mail)
Great Lakes Forecasting System Laboratory: Takis Velissariou
OSU Geodesy Lab: Hari N. Sugavana
Summary:
Xutong prepared the presentations and materials for the Tampa Bay trip as well as participating in the Columbus GPS training and Tampa GPS survey. He also tested Xian’s program.
Tarig reported that he is investigating the independence of the linear quality factors he has developed. He also investigated geometric justification of the Fuzzy membership function he developed for the linear quality work. He is working on the development of a new method for visualizing the quality of linear features. He also helped in the preparation for the Tampa Bay trip by printing the aerial photos and preparing the NGS data sheets.
Ruijin reported that he prepared the presentations and materials for the Tampa Bay trip as well as participating in the Columbus GPS training and the Tampa GPS survey. He also downloaded the vector shoreline derived from the T-sheet for Tampa Bay.
Xian reported by E-mail that in the last two weeks he continued to add Internet functionality to the program. The program can now remotely display a dataset (ESRI format) and the user is able to choose from a predefined list of resources on our server (Appendix A).
Kevin reported that he helped Ahmed in processing the GPS data for Tampa Bay.
Ahmed reported that he prepared materials for the Tampa trip as well as participating in the Columbus and Tampa GPS surveys. He presented the Tampa GPS network and the network adjustment results (Appendix B).
Chung-Yen gave a presentation about how his work is integrated in the project (Appendix C).
Takis reported that he is going to search the Great Lakes Forecasting
Lab database for the 5-year and 10-year water surfaces. He noted that all
water surfaces are stored in their machines.
Action List:
- Ahmed will work on the tide coordination problem and prepare a survey of the way we accessed data from other agencies. He will check how we obtain the data (ftp, or other search method), and how they manage their data (to figure out a method to communicate with their system, or, they don't have such a management system, to figure out how to use their system to download it).
- Ruijin Ma will complete comparing LIDAR data with the CTM in Tampa Bay.
- Xutong Niu will work with Xian, based on the data management survey results, and try to figure out how to communicate with different systems and make data queries, etc. just for the existing agencies that have data management systems. For those without such systems, Xian’s current software will be used.
- Tarig Ali will work on developing of new methods for visualizing the quality of linear features. He will prepare a presentation about his work for the next meeting.
- Vasila Velissariou will familiarize herself with the Great Lakes Forecasting System Laboratory and its role in the project. She will provide two water surfaces: the 5-year and the 10-year mean lower-low water surfaces and mean high water surfaces.
- Xian Xu will continue working on generating the remote access system to the coastal database infrastructure.
- The next co-PI and RA only meeting will be Thursday, November 21
- The next RA meeting will be held Thursday, December 5
