Summary
Vasilia Velissariou reported that she is investigating the altimetry data meta-data provided by Chung-Yen Kuo. She reported that the the time interval that the program for the output results is affected by the spatial resolution of the generated water surface. She mentioned that if we will require outputs every 1 second the program will run for 20 hrs to generate one year mean water surface.
Chung-Yen Kuo mentioned that the provided data is IP corrected, corrected for the effect of atmospheric pressure. He mentioned that for other years (out of the 3 years- time window) more data is available.
Kevien Cheng mentioned that the average accuracy of the T/P altimetry is about 5cm. He mentioned he did not find altemetry data near Tampa Bay. However, he will look into finding more data near the coast..
Ruijin Ma reported that he is working on the IKONOS shoreline.
Xutong Niu reported that he worked on preparing Tampa Bay shorelines.
Xian Xu reported that he started working on downloading certain geo datasets automatically when the user gives position and data.

¡ Comparing the results of the altimetry data and the GLFS water model.
¡ Preparing the gauge station data and the meteorological data for the 20 years run.
¡ Running the GLFS model to obtain the 20 years mean, MLL, and MH water surfaces based on the results of the water surface comparison.
Laboratory

¡ Providing the available satellite altimetry tracks meta data in Lake Erie and Tampa Bay.
¡ Providing gauge station water levels in Tampa Bay.
¡ Providing radar DEM from the STRM mission.
¡ Conduct a Buoy surveying in Lake Erie.
¡ Analyzing the mean lake surface using multiple satellite altimetry tracks.

at Buffalo:
¡ Xian Xu will come to OSU after June 19, 2003 to discuss his research tasks and objectives.
¡ He will work on the following two tasks before he come:
1. creating a browser such as the interface in ArcCatalog interface only with display of some data types. System will handle problems like where to find data and prepare it. Since HTTP is not doable sometimes, this part you could only focus on FTP transfer.
2. Downloading certain geo datasets automatically when the user gives position and data type.
