Summary
Ruijin Ma reported that he worked on transferring his work to Ahmed Elaksher. He did show him the ODNR system, the data location, and the program framework. HE prepared a two page summary to explain the program framwork. He also transferred the IKONOS imagery and programs to Ahmed Elaksher. Ruijin worked on building a data warehouse for the project data, programs and documents.
Xutong Niu reported that he is looking for a 3D visualization software to use in the data integration part of the project. He found a software named Java3D and start learning how it works and if it can be used in the project data integration. He also worked with Xian Xu on the program that he is developing.
Chung-Yen Kuo reported about the altimetry tracks in Tampa Bay (Appendix A). He found a number of tracks for the ERS-2 tracks in the Bay. However, the data is not completely calibrated. The data needs to be corrected for the IB and the Ocean Tide Model (can reach meters).
Xian Xu reported that he started working on downloading certain geo datasets automatically when the user gives position. He has developed a program that can be used in downloading data from the webgis web page.
The user has to specify the state, county, quadrant name then the program will list all available datasets within that quadrant. The user can then selectively download what he wants. The user can also give the position and all the data sets that intersects with this position will be selected and available for downloading. He also began working on linking his program with ArcCatalog.
Great
Lakes Forecasting System Laboratory
¡ Comparing the results of the altimetry data and the GLFS water model.
¡ Preparing the gauge station data and the meteorological data for the 20 years run.
¡ Running the GLFS model to obtain the 20 years mean, MLL, and MH water surfaces based on the results of the water surface comparison.
Laboratory
for Space Geodesy & Remote Sensing
¡ Providing a water surface from the ERS-2 for Tampa Bay and comparing this water surface with the one generated from the tide gauge stations.
SUNY
at Buffalo:
¡ Xian Xu work on creating a browser in ArcCatalog interface to integrate his program with ArcCatalog.
