Summary

Vasilia Velissariou reported that she is working on analyzing the differences between the water surfaces computed from the GLFS model and the satellite altimetry data. Currently she found that each satellite altimetry point has a corresponding significant wave height that is used to compute the effective diameter for the point. The effective diameter can then be used to locate and select the corresponding grid points from the GLFS grid.

She is also investigating the best method to be used to average the water levels for the corresponding GLFS points. She also found that for the IB (Inverse Barometric) correction, the lake surface needs to be lowered by (-0.9948 cm per mb).

Chung-Yen Kuo reported that he computed the 10- and 20-year MHW, MLLW, and MW in Lake Erie at all gauge stations (Appendix A). He also computed the 10- and 20-year MHW, MLLW, and MW in Tampa Bay at the St. Petersburg gauge station (Appendix B). He also reported that he computed the means of the altimetry bins in Tampa Bay using the ERS-2 satellite (Appendix C) .

Xutong Niu reported that he is learning the Java3D software.

Tarig Ali reported that he is working on finishing his dissertation.
