Summary:

In this meeting, Professor Shum and Chung-yen introduced a method for comparison between the water surface model and altimetry data. This method removes the means from model data, gauge data, and altimetry data; it compares only the variations from the means.

They used this method to compare tide-gauge data with altimetry data including T/P, Geosat/GM, and Geosat/ERM. The result is shown in Appendix A. It was suggested that the same model be applied to the water surface model.

Vasilia also made some comments about the above method.
