Summary:
In this meeting, preparations for submission of papers to the dg.o. 2004 conference was discussed.
Alok reported on his work on Tampa Bay water surface modeling. He is now working on the sample testing on POM (Princeton Ocean Model).
Based on the paper guideline for data comparison prepared by Xutong, Vasilia and Chung-yen discussed contents and document preparation. Chung-yen provided his datum conversion document. Both of them agreed to provide digital data for the diagram and graph used in the document so that all the figures to be used in the paper will be in the same style. They will work on their paper parts and will meet again discuss the paper contents. Xutong also got the gauge station data in Tampa Bay and satellite altimetric data from Chung-yen.
Xian Xu reported by Email that he
has finished converting DXF files (that will be submitted by users) to
a shapefile.
A new ArcIMS service was created to convert a DXF file to a shapefile
dynamically. We are now able to display the shapefile on the web.
Xutong
also
gave his Java3D visualization code to Xian; they will work together
on
web-based 3D display.
