Panoramic ScannerFirst photograph of people ever taken by the new Mars Panoramic Scanner being developed at the OSU Mapping & GIS Laboratory for use in future Mars missions.

This unique new scanner takes a single photograph while rotating in a circle (see distortion in the ceiling tiles) without distorting the subject of the picture. The stiff poses are caused by the slow motion of the camera as it spins through a 360-degree arc.

Pictured are teacher Diana Davis, Crooksville Middle School; teacher Laura Blue, Sells Middle School; students from Crooksville Middle School and Calumet Christian School; Kelli Leinbaugh, activity leader, Hastings Middle School; and students from Crooksville Middle School and The Wellington School.
